Yan Li (Carol) is an award winning sound designer, production and post sound mixer for films, video games and multimedia. She majored in film and video (BFA) in the School of Visual Arts and music technology (MM) in New York University. During her school life, she was trained by two Oscar winning professors, Chris Newman (Godfather, Silence of the lamb, Amadeus) and Tom Fleischman (Hugo, The Irishman, Shutter Island). She has worked as a filmmaker since 2014. She started working in sound since 2016. Some of her work went into famous film festivals like Cannes, Student Oscar, Busan Film Festivals, NYIFF, and etc. In 2021, she got the award from Cinema Audio Society as one of the finalists in Student Recognition Award. In 2023, she got game sound design scholarship from Game Audio Diversity Alliance.

        Carol is interested in any form of art and media. Her career objective is to collaborate with project with complex spirits in any form. Her sound design skill have strong adaptation for different genres and emotional connection.
